Our story began in 1937 when the first of the two Savage Brothers was born Reg who went by the abbreviation of his middle name “Joe”, all was quiet up to 1957 when the younger of the two by 20 years was born Roy.
By the 70s Roy lived in Amsterdam and Joe lived in London first working with the brand “Mechanic” then going on to have his own studio in Brixton, Two amazing Capital cities drenched in Fashions of many kinds and times, this no doubt having major influences on the printers they became. Joe was influenced heavily by the summer of love and Roy by Punk!
Both well known for their unique and sometimes radical designs. They ended up taking their respective eras by storm, both recognised throughout Europe most definitely, further afield quiet possibly! They created their own notoriously anarchistic sometimes unorthodox screen printing & clothing designs, pushing boundaries and buttons alike.
Being born in different generations they were polar opposites in some ways but most definitely both linked by many core similarities and mischievous personalities such as the want to push boundaries, shock, surprise and thought provoke with their art.
Now in 2021, their legacy of daughters decided to team up to keep the Savage name and ethos going by creating SAVAGE&Co. Ltd, using their own take of the Savage style.
The brand is an all inclusive sisterhood brand, with the Savage designs on their clothing, honest advice on their blogs and unique home accessories which really catch your eye.
As you may well imagine us girls are also very unique in our strengths and abilities but all hoping to nod the originators our fathers with sometimes edgy and sometimes political messages that can also reflect those thoughts and opinions of whoever wishes to join our journey.
We still intend on keeping that essentially bold, brave imagery but most definitely the sense of fun adventure and mischievous curiosity to our brand.
So come with us on the Adventures of Savage&co
